of butterflies as
pins, magnets, and ornaments to sell
so that the donations could be sent to
Believe in Tomorrow.

small. You can create yard decora-
tions, ornaments, magnets, necklaces,
keychain fobs, backpack hangers, digi-
tal prints, note
cards —what-
ever you choose
to make!
You can
construct your
creations out
of clay, scrap
mat board, or
recycled materials. The choices are
endless. You can use any technique
in creating your “wings” project. You

your budget and/or workspace will
allow. You can sell your items through
your organization, PTA, art club, or at
special events and festivals. You can
take orders and create custom pieces.

How Can You Help?
You can be inspired by some of the
creative ways that the Wings for
Angels project can provide assistance
to critically ill children and their
families. You may use some of the
ideas listed below or create some of
your own.
We chose to create butterflies
because our city, Coconut Creek,
Florida, is the butterfly capital of the
world, but you can create anything
that has wings such as dragonflies,
birds, ladybugs, bees, angels, fairies,

Materials
scrap mat board •
colored markers •
colored pencils •
watercolor pencils •
gloss glaze or similar sealer •
butterfly die cut and die cut •
machine (Most media centers
have a die cut machine.)
Procedures
1. Cut butterfly shapes from scrap mat
board using the die cut machine.
2. Design and color butterflies on one
side for magnets or both sides for
ornaments/hangers.
3. Apply a gloss finish sealer and allow
to dry.
4. Apply magnet, pin back, or create a
hole for use as an ornament/hanger.
