People always find ways to communicate with one another.
We report on what we see, what we know,
what we care about, and often, what we
believe. We share our thoughts, feelings,
ideas, hopes, dreams, and fears with others.
The images and objects we make play an
important role in how we communicate with
one another. From the cave dwellers forward,
humans have created artworks that reveal
information about their experiences and views
of the world.
Sometimes the messages we send through
our creations are subtle. An image or an object
from another time period gives us clues about
how people lived and what they cared about.
