Artist Trading
Cards Contest

Jessica Hatfield (grades 9–12), Amy Sue McPartlan (art teacher).
You and your students are invited to enter the fourth Artist Trading Card Contest sponsored by SchoolArts. Artist trading cards are minia- ture works of art, always 2½ x 3½" ( 6 x 9 cm),
and are traded by all ages. They can be about anything
and made with any media, materials, or techniques, but
should fit into a plastic trading card sleeve. They can be
produced as one-of-a-kind originals, in limited editions,
or in a series based on a particular theme or subject. It’s
all up to the individual artist. Visit schoolartsonline.
com to find a template you can copy and share with your
students.
Best in show winners will be chosen from each of the
following six categories: early elementary (grades K– 2),
upper elementary ( 3–5), middle school ( 6–8), high school
( 9–12), preservice art education college students, and
K– 12 art teachers. Winners in each category will be pub-
lished in the April 2010 issue of SchoolArts and displayed
at the 2010 National Art Education Association conven-
tion in Baltimore, Maryland. Each winner will receive a
$100 Davis Publications gift certificate for his or her class-
room, art materials from leading manufacturers, and a
complimentary April 2010 issue of SchoolArts.
