3rd Annual SchoolArts
Artist Trading
Cards Contest
You and your students are invited to enter the second Artist Trading Card Con-
test sponsored by SchoolArts. Artist trading cards are miniature works of art,
always 2½ x 3½" ( 6 x 9 cm), and are traded by all ages. They can be about any-
thing and made with any media, materials, or techniques, but should fit into a
trading card plastic sleeve. They can be produced as one-of-a-kind originals, in limited edi-
tions, or in a series based on a particular theme or subject. It’s all up to the individual artist.
Visit schoolartsonline.com to find a template you can copy and share with your students.
Best in show winners will be chosen from each of the following six categories:
early elementary (grades K– 2), upper elementary ( 3–5), middle school ( 6–8), high school
( 9–12), preservice art education college students, and K– 12 art teachers.
Winners in each category will be published in the April 2009 issue of SchoolArts and
displayed at the 2009 National Art Education Association convention in Minneapolis,
Minnesota. Each winner will receive a $100 Davis Publications gift certificate for his or
her classroom, art materials from the leading manufacturers listed at the bottom of this
page, and a complimentary April 2009 issue of SchoolArts.
