July 10– 16, 2007, for Folk Art Traditions and Beyond. This summer
seminar will focus on the Folk Art
Festival at the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe, with
an additional emphasis on Georgia
O’Keeffe and her life and art in New
Mexico.
The Santa Fe International Folk
Art Market is a unique open-air
gathering of master folk artists from
over forty countries in celebration
of creativity and humanity, pro-
moting international cooperation
and understanding through art and
culture. Meet the artists, appreciate the crafts, view demonstrations
and enjoy the resonating sights and
sounds of world cultures represented
in folk art, music, dance, song, fashion, and cuisine.
Spend time in the heart of Georgia O’Keeffe country: visit her home,
enjoy the landscapes she painted
in the place she loved, explored,
painted, and lived in for over fifty
years.
Activities include museum visits,
field trips, invited speakers, hands-on experiences, and attendance at
the International Folk Art Festival
at the Museum of International Folk
Art in Santa Fe.
The $750 fee includes six nights
of accommodations at Ghost Ranch
in Santa Fe, all meals, field trips,
transportation for field trips, admission fees, and seminar materials.
Commuters may also attend; the
cost without lodging is $425. Participants are responsible for transportation to and from Santa Fe.

folk art collectors and educators,
Nancy Walkup, art teacher and editor of SchoolArts magazine; and
Myra Walker, art professor at the
