18 DECEMBER 2016 SchoolArts Why White Paper? To keep the focus on texture and form, I restricted stu- dents to white paper only. In 2010, an exhibit featuring white sculptural paper fashions created by students at Pratt Institute were displayed on Ralph Pucci's newly designed mannequins (see Web Links). These designs are a great introduction to the idea of transforming something as simple as white paper into an innovative design featur- ing texture and form—much like the wardrobes of some of today's pop music icons.
