"AllthescenariosforDay is Donearebasedonimagesfoundinhigh-school yearbooksinthisparticularcase,thoughI'vealsodoneawholecollectionof similarkindsofimagesfromthesmall-townnewspaperfromwhereIgrew up.Theparticularcategorieshadreligiousritualovertones,butoutsideofthe churchcontext.Theyalllookedliketheyweredoneinpublicplaces,orthey hadgothicovertones.SoIsaid,'Okay,I'mgoingtoworkwiththeseparticulargroupsofimagesanddevelopakindofpseudo-narrativeflow.'Therituals runthegamutfromsomethinglikedress-updayatworktoSt.Patrick'sDay orHalloween,toacommunityplayoranawardsceremony.SoallIhaveis thisimage,andthenIhavetowriteawholescenarioforitlikeaplay,and thendothemusicandeverything.Eachoneisjustbasedonthelookofthe photographthattellsmewhatstyleithastobedonein....Mydreamisto performitliveinatwenty-fourhourperiod.
