They have relished the personalization of the covers by lightly sanding, gessoing, and then painting, stamping, and stenciling on them. They enjoy seeing the transformation of the pages, sometimes completely painting over the printed text and illustrations, and other times allowing them to show through washes or dry-brushed areas.
