new products Jacquard Inkjet Fabric Sheets Techniques of Sculpture: Geometry in the Clay Portrait Anything you create or have on your computer, including drawings or photographs, can be printed onto Jacquard's Inkjet Fabric Sheets. Available in silk, organza, and cotton, the sheets are paper-backed, allowing them to feed through your inkjet printer or copier just like paper. After printing, just peel off the paper backing. Attach to any project by sewing or using a fusible bonding material (not included). Available in 8½ x 11" (21 x 28 cm) sheets. Cotton and silk also available in 8½ x 120" (21 x 300 cm) rolls. Techniques of Sculpture: Geometry in the Clay Portrait demonstrates a unique approach to modeling in clay by combining interdisciplinary concepts of geometry and sculpture. Sculptor, Philippe Faraut, shows how building a geometric base aids in modeling both realistic and fantasy heads. By offering an approach based on geometric shapes, the instructor is better able to control the progression of the sculpture, particularly the size. This philosophy of teaching how to master the mechanics does not prevent the creative process, but in actuality allows the student to rapidly achieve a solid base and self-confidence, promoting creativity. 15
